Will put a stop to sand mafia in the state: Bawankule

The government will pay special attention to putting a stop to sand mafia in Maharashtra, which has become a nuisance to the public. “We will bring a simple policy on sand.” stated Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

He said, “We will study which state in the country has a simple policy that will make sand easily available to the public and then introduce a simple policy on sand in Maharashtra.”

Bawankule expressed his determination that ‘people first..’ will be his work policy and that he would create an identity that Maharashtra will be the best revenue department in the country. The issue of bushland and forest lands will be resolved.

“The issue of about 86 thousand hectares of bushland and forest lands is pending in the state, due to which many development projects have been stalled. These lands are mainly in Vidarbha, and a case is going on in the Supreme Court in this regard. We will follow up in court in this case and try to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”

It is necessary to amend many laws in this department related to farmers and agricultural laborers. By studying them, the pace of development of the state will be increased, Bawankule said, “We will soon come up with measures on how citizens can do these tasks with minimum sloppiness from the Talathi office to the District Collector’s office and from the District Collector’s office to the Government level, and we will give relief to the common people.

Stating that it is his effort to simplify the policies related to stamp duty, and to completely crack down on sand mafia, Bawankule said, to simplify the policy process, we will also study useful laws from other states and we will see positive changes in the revenue department soon.  

A multi-party government has to be run with understanding. Coordination is necessary for that. There is coordination among the three parties in the grand alliance, and it has also been seen in the distribution of portfolios. Also, while distributing the guardian ministerial posts, our leader, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will distribute the guardian ministerial posts without any hesitation.

Bawankule expressed his confidence that he would coordinate properly with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Chhagan Bhujbal is an important leader in the grand alliance, and is NCP leaders Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare will take the right decision in his case, Bawankule said while answering a question about Bhujbal.
